A Memorial Donation
Posted over 3 years ago
The Chicagoland Chapter HPNA is honoring our past president, Ellyn T Schreiner, MPH, RN-BC, CHPN, through a donation of $1000.00 to the Hospice & Palliative Nurses Foundation (HPNF).
Ellyn was an active Chicagoland Chapter Board member for many years. She also served a variety of roles, including past president, within American Society of Pain Management Nursing (ASPMN) and the local Chicago Metropolitan Chapter of ASPMN.
Ellyn worked at AMITA St. Thomas Hospice until her "retirement" and moved to Ohio; Retirement didn't last, and she returned back to work with Crossroads Hospice.
Unfortunately, Ellyn contracted COVID in March 2020 and died April 14, 2020.
On this one year anniversary, we honor her memory, her leadership, her laughter and her mentorship to so many of us at HPNA and ASPMN.
Donations to HPNF circle back to nurses in forms of scholarships for certifications, conferences, education, research and chapter grants. A portion of chapter dues are put toward our annual chapter donation.
Thank you Ellyn for all your service and dedication and education toward advancing, pain managment and hospice/palliative nursing. You are continued to be missed.
